OJAR was started by the well-known and successful Omani businesswoman Sheikha Hind Bahwan, who had the idea to honour Oman's rich cultural legacy and heritage through her love of perfumery. OJAR originates from the word HOJARI, which is known for being the highest grade of Frankincense resin in the world. It is cultivated in Southern Oman's Dhofar Mountains. Frankincense is one of the main components of its collection.

OJAR is a blend of the East and West scents inspired by ancient perfume rituals and Sheikha Hind Bahwan's travel ideas. The art of creating perfumes requires a mastery of the finest components combined with a balance between tradition and contemporary.

OJAR offers a range of elegant, unisex fragrances centred around six essential ingredients. Three of these ingredients are derived directly from Oman: the Dhofar region's Frankincense, the Rustaq honey, and the Jebel Akdhar rose. Sandalwood, oud, and musk are the remaining harmonious partners that combine Eastern and Western notes.
